Our candles come in two sizes
2 ounce -
Our 2 ounce candle comes in a clear mini glass jar with a flat fitted lid, safely cushioned in paper shred and boxed in a brown kraft box. Burn time is approximately 19 hours. These jars are perfect as elegant party favors or give them as small tokens of appreciation to those people who make life easier for you: the hairdresser who takes you at the last minute, the dry cleaner who never loses a shirt, the neighbor who takes an extra carpooling turn. Or, if unable to decide between several scents, order them all at a fraction of the cost of a big candle. Use in place of tealights with a longer burn time. Recycle as candy jars or place on your desk as a catchall for small objects such as paperclips. Fill with a favorite jelly bean or mint, wrap in tulle and fill with a pretty ribbon and pass it on to a special friend or teacher. The possibilities are endless but you can’t start unless you order at least one jar!
8.5 ounce -
No special occasion to celebrate? Has it been months since your last birthday and months more before the next one? Not feeling particularly depressed but could use a spiritual tuneup anyway? It may be time to purchase one (or two or three!) of our 8.5 ounce candles which are hand poured into beautiful square frosted glass jars. Each jar has softly contoured sides and emits a soft glow when lit. Burn time is approximately 80 hours, significantly longer than candles made with paraffin. These candles make excellent hostess and special occasion gifts and contain no calories, something your diet conscious friends will appreciate. Surprisingly, men love our candles and enjoy its soothing and fragrant properties. Once your candle has burned down, refer to our “about” page for cleaning instructions. Emptied jars make excellent recepticles for holding your sliced lime, olives and paper umbrellas at the home bar. In the office, they can hold your pens and pencils, rubber bands, a generous supply of sticky notes or other pesky small items that clutter the desktop. We even keep them around to hold the cell phone and car keys so we never forget where they are. Each candle is nestled in a brown kraft box and secured with a pretty ribbon.
About our wicks -
We use a flat, coreless cotton wick braided with thin paper filaments interwoven for burn stability and are primed with vegetable wax rather than paraffin. This braiding technique also greatly improves rigidity compared to standard cotton and paper cored wicks. The specially treated paper threads provide a controlled curling of the wick making the which results in minimized mushrooming, soot and smoke. They have been designed to significantly reduce the "afterglow" and smoke often seen in paper cored wicks.
